Dave Baker brings more than two decades of experience in automation, holding roles as a Machine Vision Engineer, Control Engineer, and Application Engineer.

Professional Background

Dave began his career as a Machine Vision Engineer, designing and programming high-speed inspection systems based on the Cognex Vision Pro platform. These systems integrated with Visual Studio.NET applications to provide accurate inspections, valuable data, and user-friendly interfaces — all while handling throughput rates of up to 1,600 parts per minute.
As a Controls Engineer, Dave continued his work with high-speed vision systems, integrating them with PLCs, robotics, motion controls, and safety systems. He managed multimillion-dollar automation projects, ensuring performance, safety, and reliability for demanding production environments.
As an Applications Engineer, Dave specified and designed vision and robotic solutions for a wide range of industries. He also led training courses, teaching engineers the latest technologies from Cognex and Epson Robots.
